It may seem to you that there is never enough time in the day. It is true for all of us. Many of us find time is drifting away, and we cannot control it. How can we manage time to become more productive?
Why is it that some people achieve so much more with their time than others? Do the answer lies in good time management? But, we all get the same 24 hours in a day.
Many of us keep floating down the river of life. Are you too not going wherever time takes you? Do you make all the decisions in life or flow with the tide of time?
Ask yourself can you really manage your time?
If not, here is a different perspective for you to become more productive at work!
According to timemanagementninja.com “Many people are driftwood. They go where life takes them. They do not make decisions that alter their course. And ultimately, their condition becomes a result of what life does to them.”
But we’re all really busy. We’ve all got too much to do, and not enough time to do it in. So how in the world are we supposed to find time to focus on and consistently do the things that will create the future that we’ve always dream of?
It’s not as difficult as you think. It only needs a shift! But it does take a mindset shift.
“We can not live the afternoon of life according to the program of life’s morning for what was great in the morning will be little in the evening and what in the morning was true at evening will have become a lie” – The Shift by Dr. Wayne Dyer
Once you understand that not all tasks are equally important, you can find the time to take significant action on your goals – even amidst the busy business of everyday life.
Many of us suffer from procrastination. There are effective ways to manage procrastination and be productive.
Have you ever wondered how it is that some people seem to have enough time to do everything that they want to, whereas others are always rushing from task to task, and never seem to finish anything?
Is it just that the former has less to do? No, it’s much more likely that they are using their time more effectively or in other words, they know what they need to. It’s basically doing the right thing at the right moment.
Theoretically, time management is not very difficult as a concept, but it’s surprisingly hard to do in practice. And in most of the case, it is because we are not disciplined in life.
Live your life while you have it. Life is a splendid gift. There is nothing small in it. Far the greatest things grow by God’s law out of the smallest. But to live your life, you must discipline it. – Florence Nightingale
Do you let others steal your time? Or are you comfortable to say “no” to others when it’s necessary?
If you let others monopolize your time, they will take it. If you stand up for your time, people will respect it. Being in control of your own time is essential to ensuring that you can do what you want to do.
It just requires the investment of a little time upfront to prioritize and organize yourself. And the power comes from some daily healthy habits like a little exercise and meditation.
But once you enter a healthy lifestyle, you will find that, your day, and indeed your week and month, fall into place in an orderly fashion, with time for everything you need to do.
The Pareto principle teaches us that roughly 80% of the value is achieved from only 20% of the effort. The same is true when deciding what to work on that will help you create your ideal future.
You don’t need some 20-30-40 extra hours per week to create the future you’ve always dreamed of.
You just need to work smart by picking the things that will provide you the biggest return on your time, attention, energy, and focus on investing your energy to get those tasks done. You just must make it a priority.
So, if you can identify the 20% of things you could be doing that provide 80% of the value and focus only on those things, you can maximize your results and create your ideal future faster than you ever thought possible.
Can You Really Manage time? No, but you can manage your priorities and the intent to get things done. For you, this can be an answer on how to become more productive at work.
